1:1 Paraprofessional at Carleton School – For Eastern Local

  • Position: 1:1 Paraprofessional at Carleton School (Meigs County Board of Developmental Disabilities) for an Eastern Local student.
  • Salary: Per Established Paraprofessional Salary Schedule.  This is a nine month part time position.
  • Start Date:  May 4, 2026 or as determined by Eastern Local and Carleton School.

Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED, and Associate’s Degree.
  • Passing score on State Parapro Assessment if no degree (or equivalent).
  • Must pass BCI and FBI background checks

 Position Description (includes but is not limited to):

  • Ensure safety of students
  • Provide assistance to classroom teacher
  • Work with students both individually and in small groups
  • Assist with gross motor time, restroom breaks, bussing, etc.
  • Promote good social relationships between children
  • Assist students with toiletry needs and diapering as needed
  • Duplicate or prepare materials for class projects
  • Maintain respect at all times for confidential records and student information
  • Interact in a positive and professional manner with students, staff, and parents
  • Attend meetings and in-services as required

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Play learning games
  • Assist teacher in maintaining student files
  • Prepare supply, material, and equipment requisitions as directed by immediate supervisor
  • Respond to routine questions and requests in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Working Conditions:

  • Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions (i.e., being prepared to come to work on all scheduled workdays, except calamity days)
  • Frequent and regular requirement to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, climb, kneel, and stoop
  • Occasional requirement to carry, lift, push, and pull items up to a maximum of 50 pounds
